The Home of Hope

Classic Builders have been simply brilliant! They are underway building an additional new home on the site of our existing homes which will give up to 6 more tamariki at any one time the safety they so badly need and deserve.
The house blessing was a time when Kaumatua, Caregivers, House Parents, and Children came together to celebrate this incredible time. Since then, it has been all ‘hands-on-deck’ with subbies and tradies who work with Classic Builders coming to the party to donate time and product! The floor is down and the house is starting to rise from its foundations. We are so grateful to all involved in this incredible journey!

Cashmore Real Estate has also been incredible and has come to the party, by throwing a party! YES, a black-tie event on the 10th April 2021 that will see all the ‘who’s-who’ of Tauranga get their glad rags on, spit ‘n shine their shoes, and come to hear Nigel Latta speak and bid for some exceptional auction items up for grabs! It really is all happening for our ‘babies’. If you would like tickets, please contact us via email

We would also like to honour Robbie and Valerie’s Uncle (Chaplain) Gordon William Parker for the funding he has given to The Home of Hope. Gordon was a Chaplain and Psychologist at three different prisons in the Auckland and Waikato Regions.
He and his wife were unable to have children so when he passed, Gordon’s wish was to give to a Christian based Children’s organization. As executors, Robbie and his mother, after research, chose Homes of Hope and have gifted a cheque for $35,000.00 to help with the new home for children. We will be placing a plaque in Gordon’s honour at the new home to acknowledge this wonderful kindness and to keep him in our hearts and minds forever.

New Zealand has such an incredibly giving nature and for all the tough times we have endured making the best opportunities for children from hard places, it’s people like Ben and colleagues at the Sutherland Self Help Trust that have stepped forward to help where they can. We received a large donation towards our new home.

We are so grateful to all the organizations that supported our new home for children.

More babies in need receiving the care they desperately need are just around the corner!

We’ll take you through the journey with us on our Facebook page,  so make sure you give it a like and visit the Givealittle page to donate what you can, we still have a wee way to go to make the new home comfy for our little ones.
